Hello there. I'm trying to install a sidewinder usb gamepad in my windows 95 system. It is the Microsoft Sidewinder 2.0 (X08-09336). I installed the software from the cd-iso from the vogons drivers but still my sidewinder is undetected and from the device manager if I try to manually install the driver from the cd the system doesn't seem to find any available driver. The only drivers that exist in this cd are for directx and some sound cards. The software that installs is for gaming profiles but it doesn't install any drivers. Can anyone help me find the correct drivers? Thanks.

Which version of Win95 ? Hopefully OSR2... What happened when you plugged in the GamePad ? Did windows ask for the driver ?
Which Driver ? The Gamepad driver CD ver 2.0 or Game Controller Software 3.0 CD ??
Both appear to be for the Game Port versions on quick inspection but could be wrong....
The USB drivers are probably under the MS Precision drivers... some of the MS USB Joystick/Game pads were not designed to run under Win9x but XP.
Sorry do not have any time to dig deeper at this time, am sure someone else has more info..

Yes, I'm running OSR2.1. First time I plugged in the gamepad the system asked for a driver. I used the Gamepad driver CD ver 2.0 CD. On your notice I'll try the MS Precidion drivers. Thanks!

Sadly the MS Precision and Precision Pro drivers did not work.

You can try this: https://archive.org/details/ms-sidewinder-pro
It is for the Gamepad Pro USB version but think it only for Win98....

Update: looked thru a bunch of MS archives and every USB Gamepad or Joystick said requires Win98 or higher so you may be out of luck with Win95....
Has to do with USB device support HID/OHCI/UHCI according to a few MS KB articles...
Also could not find that exact GamePad, just MS Gamepad, Gamepad USB, GamePad Pro, etc...

Yes, it makes sense since I have used it in almost every other Windows version after 95 (98/98se/me/xp/7/10) and it worked plug 'n play without driver installation.
