Hello ,

Recently i've decided to use dedicated 1.2 GB fujitsu hdd for dos , everything went fine , it have been formatted and fdisked as it suppose to be . It was given three partitions 500-500-222 mb . But when i try to boot it loading red hat linux which hes been installed before . I belive there is mbr record left somewhat even if i deleted all partions with fdisk , windows xp standart tools , special utilites. So i would be much appreciated if someone could help get rid of this shitty linux GNu .

DOS: 166mmx/16mb/Y719/S3virge
DOS/95: PII333/128mb/AWE64/TNT2M64
Win98: P3_900/256mb/SB live/3dfx V3
Win Me: Athlon 1700+/512mb/Audigy2/Geforce 3Ti200
Win XP: E8600/4096mb/SB X-fi/HD6850

Boot dos 6.22 from floppy and execute "fdisk /mbr"
Alternatively, just install windows and it will overwrite mbr. Can't remember if dos installer also did this.

Hi. If you're going to wipe the disk, anyway, have a look at S0Kill.
It helped me removing things like LiLo (old Linux loader).
Unlike dd command on *nix, it's non-destructive, from what I can tell.
It will use BIOS routines only.
