Hi,
anybody have any information about this Canon MD-5501 5"1/4 Floppy drive
can it work at 300 rpm,

Cannot find any good docs to explain if it auto senses density and runs 300rpm with DD and 360 rpm with HD but No jumpers for anything but the Drive ID so probably locked at 360 rpm,
unlike the Teac FD55GFR has jumper for spindle speed mode (single = 360, dual = 300/360)

I wonder if the mb8855A could be read to retrieve the romcode, only 2048 bytes.
Sorry, no idea about the 300/360 rpm.
