I got one "181100 Backpack 24x bantam 182" or "181100 Backpack 24x bantam 190" without power adapter, does anyone know how can I find a substitute?
If it's a standard barrel plug, it's likely a 12V or 5v psu.
If it's one of those multi pin plugs, it might have both 12v & 5v on the adapter.
though looking at some photos that can be found on the internet of the device It looks like a standard barrel plug.

Thanks for the link, I found a 5v 2.2A adapter and it works fine.
However, the drive won't read any CDs.
Driver is loaded correctly, but I tried different I/O cards, different computers. None of them could read, I guess the laser head went bad after all the years.
I also image the driver disk came with it, but it can't be uploaded it here. Maybe someone can take a look and help.
I have one of these, and although it works, disk access is abnormally slow. It's not usable in this condition. I don't know what's wrong. (MS-DOS 6.22 and parallel port in ECP mode.)
Is this too much voodoo?

Try cleaning the lens with an alcohol soaked earstick and try again.
