I have on the way a Soyo SY5EMA+ board.
Provided that it works and doesn't need a full recap (even if it does eventually) I will be repurposing it as the new home for my K6-3+ build.
That said that leaves me with my problematic but somehow charming PC Chips M571 system that will need a new processor and perhaps a new video card.
It currently has my PCI Voodoo 3 2000, I will likely place my AGP v3 3000 in the new board as it is currently in my Socket 370 build that is likely going to get retired or rebuilt with a VIA chip.
But I might keep the PCI card in the PC Chips build, not sure.
So my question is this: What CPU should I use in the PC Chips board? I have a handful of socket 7 CPUs. None of them super exciting.
Pentium Classic 100mhz
Pentium 166MMX
K6 200
K6/2 350 (likely won't use any K6/2 as I have the K6-3+, redundant)
Not sure what else I might have in the spares bin.
I was also playing with the idea of a Cyrix chip if I can find one cheap enough....I have a Cyrix 5x86 in my 486 and it has been a fun chip.
I doubt a WinChip2 will fall in my lap and Rise chips are pretty much out of the question.
What would all of you do?
Bear in mind I'll likely build, bench and then never use this machine again. Such is my curse.
