Hi all,

Just to share my experience tonight when I restored and upgrade an old 486.

If you've the motherboard PcChips M918i with a true Intel 486 DX4-100 SK096 - and you follow the jumpers configuration provided by the user's manual, you will have reboot or freeze on the Post.
It's because the user manual is wrong for the Intel 486 DX4-100 SK096.
See attached for the fix - Finally simple for once, but I naively wasted my time following the manual and tried many confs ...

It's a pretty rare card but I'm sure it helps someone sometime.

Cheers,

Wow and Thank You ! Have seen errors in manuals before, sometime there is a addendum released but probably never find one for such an old board...

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
