Hi guys

I have this Suntac SUH286 motherboard with a busted tantalum cap next to the oscillator and for the death of me cannot identify what are the specs of that. It just has '10k' on it and as you might have noticed, I am a noob without the right tools to measure capacitance.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

It´s not a tantalum but a ceramic capacitor with 10.000pF = 10nF.
Voltage should be 50V (or higher).

I wonder what 10nF 50V could do around the crystal, being put so symmetrically. It's not the load caps, too high value

Thanks for pointing that out - I was a little hasty this morning.
10K is 10pF and K is the tolerance +/- 10%!

Hello, I have same motherboard,
I have error. When I start 3x beep (error memory testing). Then I power off and then push fast power on again and motherboard is running. It look like poor caps charging on cold start.
I measured electrolitic caps capacity on main loop, I cannot measured on board, so I desolder one, which was good. Than put back. I tried to measure temperature of all capacitors and it looks good, all around 22 to 26C.
But I see that only one cap is about 50C, so you can see this capacitor marked 10 4Z , it is ceramic but which capacity? This capacitor look like that is connected to bus status S0 and S1 of AMD CCU.

Any idea?

Thank you. Karel
