As the title suggests I'm looking to pair these two pieces of hardware but looking through the motherboard's manual I can't see any mention of supporting the
plus version of the K6-2. Has anyone had any experience with this or perhaps have a better understanding than myself?

Thanks

Anthony

Motherboard manuals are almost never updated after first release so only show what was available/compatible at launch. You'll hardly ever find K6plus support status mentioned in those.

Better place to look is BIOS release notes. Or just here: http://web.inter.nl.net/hcc/J.Steunebrink/k6plus.htm

Check your BIOS version, if <1EA1, upgrade. Then you're good to go.

I have a SY-5EMA Pro and the latest BIOS supports the plus variant. It is correct the manuals rarely updated after release. The 5EMA+ version is essentially the same, and they released updated BIOS for that too.

I have it, Ver. 1.1 and with last bios it supports up to K-6 III.
Don't know if + versions too. I benched it with a III-400 and oc'd it but can't remember now.

Yes.

After watching many YouTube videos about older computer hardware, YouTube began recommending videos about trains - are they trying to tell me something?

Actually, the SY-5EMA+ officially supports K6-2/3+ CPUs.
After flashing this this BIOS file you'll be good to go.

I have been using that motherboard fine with K6-3+ for few years, but you have to understand that there are quite big differences between revisions when it comes to this motherboard. It took a while to find a manual online that matched the exact revision I have of this motherboard if I remember correctly.
