Hi there. I got a Gateway G6-333 desktop without a hard drive. I've installed windows 98 but having trouble with the drivers. I've done some looking and thought I found what drivers I needed but they weren't working. I then found (I think on archive.org) a system cd for the specific computer but the drivers on the CD won't work. I was wondering if I can try to locate the sound and video chips on the board and get help that way or if anyone else would already know what drivers I'm looking for. There was an old thread on this board about this same problem but they said they found the drivers but didn't list what they are or where to find them. Anyways thank you for any help.

From pictures the sound is Creative ES1371 (like the SB PCI 64 ircc) and the video is a ATI Rage Pro variant.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

A picture of the board or a ref number would help, however it could be your system is based on the Anigma (Andover) LX board...if so, these seem to be the available support files listed by Gateway -

Thank you for your help. I'll try these first but if it's not working I'll get a picture of the board or try to get the chips part numbers.

Hey, these worked. I always feel embarrassed when I search for a few days and can't find the drivers, but it only takes a few hours for a kind friend here to link me. I really do appreciate it though.
