I have a
Gigabyte ga-6vxe7+
pentium 3 coppermine 750mhz
1.5GB 133MHZ
ATI 9800 PRO 128mg
Adaptec Array1000 "13 1u2" 3x scsi 9.3gb drives
80gb IDE

I was getting the old girl going agen
I installed w2k sp4 and omg it was dog slow playing quake III Arena unplayable.. I remabet back when this thing was new it would rock Q3 arena so I installed 3dmarks 2000 got a score of 1228 that seems real low..

So i installed sp3 and it was playable and running fine. Is sp4 that bloated 🤔?
I don't remaber it being that bad but I think I moved over to a AMD xp runing win XP befor sp4 came out.

Hi, your post intrigued me so I decided to do a couple of tests.

I have a pc similar to yours -

Pentium 3 700MHz
Asus P3V4X with 512MB PC133
NVIDIA GeForce 2 ULTRA VGA
and 128GB SSD

I tried PC Mark 2000 first with SP3 and then with SP4

As you can see the results are comparable.

So I think it's a problem generated by the too new VGA set / Heavy drivers, chipset etc

Not an issue related to SP4

I hope it can be useful to someone
HI
