I've just received a Transcend 32Gb Industrial CF170 card and it hangs the BIOS at boot when it tries to autodetect it. The Compact Flash adapter is a StarTech 35BAYCF2IDE and the system is an ASRock K7VT4A PRO with an AMI BIOS (fully updated). I have been using a SanDisk Extreme 32Gb for quite a while with this PC. It works except for the Sandisk presenting itself as a removable drive which causes problems with Winblows 2000/XP such as various programs refusing to install. Thus I ordered the Transcend CF170 because it's supposed to present itself as a fixed disk (couldn't verify this yet unfortunately). Is there perhaps some trick to get it to work or do I have to go hunt for another 32Gb CF card that presents itself as a fixed disk? In the latter case, any recommendations?
