We have two IBM26 6x86-2V2100GB, one with an extra P120+ label, same specs. The third is IBM26 6x86-2V2P120GC P120+ with also the same specs and a square heatspreader. All 3.3V, 0,65µ, 100 Mhz. So are these all same with different labels for marketing reasons or something?

The 2 x 6x86-2V2100GB are both the same core. The second picture is a later production, with the P120+ added to the spec.

The 6x86-2V2P120GC is a later revision, so not the same core. For most code, they all run the same. I can't remember what the core revision is (ie what improvements were made).

Thanks, so I don't need the somewhat overpriced version without the P120+ label for simple test reasons. That's a relief.

Cyrix soft launched the 6x86 in 1995, I remember considering one late that year.
(Pr90) but instead got a retail branded AST ADVENTURE ADVANTAGE 4/66D (less expensive)

The very first 6x86 chips were rated by clock speed only. 80 or 100 mhz

The PR values came later

This is similar to the AMD 486DX5-133 I had, apparently very early before it got relabeled into the 5x86

I had a motherboard with a 40, 45, and 55mhz FSB, it listed support for Cyrix PR90/100/120/133/150

Oddly 45mhz x 2x for PR100 I can’t say I’ve ever seen before.

My guess is they never released that speed grade but it made it into the manual for a few motherboard’s.
