I'm archiving a lot of old material. The reality is most of it has been completed, but there always seems to be this uncertainty when contemplating the sale or destruction of an old hard drive. What do you do? Most, make that essentially all of my various files and downloads get plunked down on my desktop. I'm not the most organized person in the world. But at least there's no question where to look for stuff that is not part of the windows installation or 3rd party software.

So what parts of an old drive do you save? All of it? Any real point in removing all my personal files and s/w and imaging the bare windows installation (if there is no restoration media)? Or save the restore partition? Am I crazy?
