Hi All

I have a Texas Travelmate 4000m which has tiny joystick style mouse device build in.

Do I need the exact Mouse driver, or should a generic one work in Dos 6.22 (for playing Lemmings!!!) and Windows 3.1?

In laptops at the time did they use a common input device or would Texas have made their own?

Also pardon my language, what's the proper name for this Input device?

Thanks in advance
Louis

Seemingly just called the 'embedded pointing device'

Don't see anything specific in the ti driver library (maybe try the 4000M utils file TM4MBP.EXE) - https://web.archive.org/web/19961220025729/ht … /docs/bbs_4.htm or the User & Reference Guides from here - https://web.archive.org/web/19961220025752/ht … ocs/bbs_man.htm

The /P switch forces CTMouse to work in PS/2 mode. First, check the BIOS to see if it is enabled or not.

Unrelated to the mouse driver, but make sure that you take it apart to remove the CMOS battery! It's a barrel type that is prone to leaking in these.

I probably have too many old laptops.

The mouse buttons are on the motherboard and the stick is connected via a thin ribbon. I don't think it would be seen as PS2?

A quick update if anyone finds this post in the future. The stick uses the Microsoft PS/2 Drivers and this is mentioned in one of the manuals.

After installing my mouse buttons, which are directed on the motherboard work, but the stick itself is extremely unresponsive. I've ordered a mouse off ebay.

It probably needs some cleaning.
