I agree that it should just go in the parts bin or be used as practice for soldering experience if you want to try and replace the memory. There are only four chips there, so you have a 1/4 chance or getting it right the first time.
You're right that it's a less desirable part; even more so to me personally without DVI. Although the composite out is neat and an uncommon option, if you ever plan to hook a TV up to your computer.
