The date is wrong here:
https://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Pentium- ... 0256).html

* the oldest sl number is cc0 stepping
* the first cc0 cpu was the 1133
* the 1133 paper lunch was in aug 2000
* the stepping failed at 1133
* so probably they sold them as 1ghz
* the first ghz cpus were slot1, but not fcpga

So the question, when does the ghz fcpga p3 hit the market?

Another comments:
The date above (march 2000) is for the slot1 cb0 ghz cpu.
The cd0 fcpga stepping released just around the tualatin (ca may 2001), so every faster cpus from this age (1000 cd0, 1100, 1133): https://ascii.jp/elem/000/000/323/323491/
The first ghz fcpga cpu must be released between aug 2000 and may 2001.
I checked many photos, i did not find cpu with 2000 manufacturing date, even the engineering sample cpus with late 2000 date. So probably first part of the 2001 should be the right date, but please correct me.
The cc0 slot1 versions are also from the same age (which is popular on the retro market), the original cb0 ghz cpu is super rare.

1000/100 mention for oems, aug 2000 (probably slot1):
https://pc.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/article/2 … 02/hotrev73.htm

As an aside, the latest Pentium III data sheet has been added to the Pentium III 1.0GHz with a system bus of 100MHz before I knew it. According to sources, Intel has explained to OEM manufacturers that this Pentium III 1.0GHz is a product that will be used for specific applications such as server workstations, and it will be used for general uses. It doesn't seem to be a thing.

Gotcha… dell pc with 815 chipset, ghz cpu, so it must be an fcpga package:
https://pc.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/article/2 … 000928/dell.htm

Sept 2000, so the ghz pentium iii fcpga should be after this on the market.

if somebody (like me) wants to build a period correct 440bx rig with the top slot1 100mhz cpu, it was the "road map":

same for the socket 370, the availability is interesting 😀 i did not find result for the more exotic coppermine 1100/100 and the 1133/133. from the stepping, they should come out around the tualatin.

Very interesting about dates. I’m very lucky to have both the 1100/100 and Tualatin 1400-S (512KB cache). I wonder if the 1400 and 1400-S were just released a month apart. The date for the standard 1400 is Dec 2001.

i would be happier with a slot1 1000/100, it would match with the bx and the gf2 ultra.

That would be a nice match but the slot1 1000/100 is rare as hens teeth these days (I guess same goes with a GF2 Ultra). I matched my 1100/100 with a GF2 Ti.

I guess it all depends what you consider “period correct”. For me, period correct is hardware being within 2 years of each other.

A period correct top pc. I used in the past enough underdog parts 😀 the isa bus is the only thing what i want for the gus (late dos demoscene) - so the 820, 815 not an option for me.

How to read date codes on Slot 1 1000/100? I have 2 of different sSpec, though same stepping. Unfortunately I had a heat sink removal accident with one of them, so only one works 🤦‍♂️

Also I have 2 1100/100 fcpga, which I'm not sure either how to read date codes?

If it's dual it's kind of cool ... 😎

That would make both my 1.1 week 27 2001 and my 1000/100 Slot 1 week 1 and 6 of 2001 respectively.

Yeah, how i expected - probably the higher clocked cc0 p3 are mostly from early 2001, and the cd0 from the late 2001.

Eg at the fcpga 100mhz, 850mhz was the highest for cc0, which is interesting, the slot1 1ghz was there.

Doesn't look like any 1000/100 Slot-1 were made in cD0?

You can check the steppings on the cpuworld

Yeah, that's where I didn't seem to be able to find any cD0 1000/100 Slot 1

i guess for the intel the slot1 with 820+rdram was interesting. after the p4 released, the p3 went to the mainstream with 815+sdram+socket.
