Hi, i have recieved my 3d prophet 9000 pci ,and i try to use it on my 486 motherboard (with POD intel pentium overdrive) no boot, no post, nothing, only some buzzer bips . The video card is not detected like a no video card on motherboard PCI.

Then, i test it on a 233mmx Pentium computer, it's booting and no Post only a litle text (a code showeb by the video card) and nothing. Same result on a pentium pro computer.

I must to use a Pentium2 computer to boot, post, and load windows 98 se.

Well, a 3d prophet 9000 64mo DDR pci is for a Pentium2 computer not for PCI 2.1 486, and i don't know why?

bye.

It's too new to use with a 486 motherboard. Just because a card is PCI does not mean it will work in a system that old.

I think it likely requires PCI 2.2 or better. Most 486 boards have buggy, poorly performing PCI on top of it being an old version of the spec.
