Well....
Originally I sat up my K6-III (FIC PA2013) system for dos gaming, and just for the fun of it I installed an empty harddrive and installed Win98 on it. The result was pretty horrible, as gaming was really laggy and buggy in games such as Unreal Tournament.
Spec's:
FIC PA-2013, K6-III-400
198 megabyte memory.
Asus V3800 TNT2 32 mb AGP.
SB-LIVE.
I did install all the correct drivers, that I have found on the official manufatures website's.
What pussles me now, is what could have been the source of the unstable gaming performance?
Is it the AGP drivers? Is it the fact that I have a GUS ISA card (ISA slowing something down)?
Could it be a "wrong" gfx card that I am trying to play games with?
I went back to DOS on this system, as I have a different rig' for 98 gaming.
It just keep's going through my mind, if I should try it again, just using a different GFX card,
such as a Matrox or nVidia cards. Perhaps Matrox G400? Or getting an Gforce-4?
I know there is a DOS GFX Matrix chart or called something else.
Perhaps there is a version of that list for Win98?
Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.
Those cakes make you sick....
