I just bought one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271792162059

i wanted to buy 10 at that price, but i wont kiss a gift horse in the mouth, i'll be happy if it arrives, works, and is what it says it is.

Boy am I jealous now that the listing is ended! Hope the seller has more in stock (and honours the sales), even at double the price it's a steal.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Listing has ended here as well. Darn, I really missed on a great bargain here, always wanted an EE 😈 .

Aye. But it is rare as fuck, it seems that I'm the only owner of the whole community. That means, I have the opportunity to describe and test it first.

I borrowed a 16 megapixel Lumix to take better photos. Alas, the Lumix is still cheap and noisy, and the weather is too gloomy. Perhaps I will take better photos when the sun comes out.

Oh, and of course Q3 is not a good reason to get a V5, a GF2 should beat it.

*g*
I don't say a V5 is useless, I would certainly pick up one for the right price. It's just for OpenGL or Direct3D games there are so many other options which are just as compatible, much cheaper, (often much) faster and produce less heat and noise. GF2 is just one example.
For Glide games V5 is of course the ultimate solution (penultimate if you are counting the V5 6000).

I have allways said, that I would pay for a Voodoo card if the price was right.
In other words... Common V-prices are simply just too high.
Found a V3 3000 AGP for less than 15 US Dollars. Just paid for it.

The prices of Voodoo5's are only going to go up with time, there's only so many that were produced. So.. they're usually not found "cheap" unless you get extremely lucky.. like me and others have and find them in the wrong place on accident sold by people that have no idea what their value is.

I know...
Someday a really cheap V5 is going my way. Not buying those V's at current Ebay prices, that's for shure.
That is why I have setteled on nVidia and Matrox as primaery choices. V5 at 100 to 200 dollars are too much.
GF2 to GF4 is more suitable for my need's. V5 is only if cheap and only because of the looks of it.
They look awesome indeed. That's 100%

I'm stuck on laptops for the next 18 months, but even after that, I can't see me rushing into building anything else for a little while. My 450 MHz PIII with a Voodoo 2/Matrox G200 combo and SB Live! 5.1 is more than sufficient to cover my Glide games, and there is only one game I can think of that won't run on one of my laptops or my desktops (that being the original TrackMania, with its 32MB VRAM requirement and no modern OS support) that I actually own. Long-term, I'll build a proper replacement for my dead P4 tower, since all it needs is a PSU, a case and a motherboard, but that may be three years away at least. Certainly don't see me getting any Voodoos in the near future - which means I may be screwed if I ever do want one!
