Need WinXP MP4 player w/good decoder for old SBPRO2

Old good SB PRO2 in WinXp , mp3's sound quality was terrible like an 8 bit distorted radio, but Winamp < v2.7 plays 'em excellent, i think it uses another full compilant decoder. Since then i've been looking for a mp4 video player with good sound for the old sbpro2, these's waht i got:
-Pot Player: No sound problems, but sound quality is a bit like and old radio.
-KM Player: The same
-Divx Plus Player 8 : 100% corrupted sound, it closes
-VLC 1-1.9: Sound Quality is great but sound's fully broken up, tried all settings i could find but nothing, it's a pitty it sounds great

Any advice?

SBPro2 is at best 8-bit 22.05kHz stereo or 8-bit 44.1kHz mono. The program needs to pump out audio in one of those formats.

You could try resampling through MPCHC and ffdshow. Maybe VLCPlayer can do this too.

I forgot about GOM Player, no problems in output sound but very low quality sound.

Sorry swaaye, you say try a K-lite pack or just Media Player with ffdshow? the resampling is automatic?

Thank you so so much Swaaye, installed an old media player classic standalone version, than last version of ffdshow (could find old versions) , set to Always re-sample to 22050HZ , FFDSHOW tray icon says:

Give life back to my old sbpro2, sounds like Winamp 2.7 for mp3!
I dunno if in resample there any iprovement setting MODE hightest quality (default's normal) or another tweak suitable for the old sbpro2
