The PB is an interesting beast and someone upgraded it with an Intel Overdrive 100mhz. its funny cause the case sticker claims it came with a Intel 486SX2-50...yes, SX. I'm guessing that's a misprint. The other case unfortunately just had some boring socket 7 board with boring expansion cards.

also, not exactly retro but high end AGP stuff is getting pricey/scarce.

You lucky duck! Those Packard Bell's are rare! Very sought after by the Packard Bell enthusiasts.

Hmm, not bad for $15 then? I'm usually a suckered for PB stuff. It needs a hard drive but it powered up and posted just fine. I couldn't find any info on this particular model or style though.

Nice Viewtop Tseng Labs ET6000 2Mb PCI card arrived from ebay, really, really quick in DOS with my K5, even faster than my best S3 ViRGE 325. Lovely image quality too, bright colours, perfect blacks, think I have finally found my perfect setup for DOS/Windows 3.11 system, lost count of the number of different CPU's and video cards I have tested in this box now!! 🤣 But this current combination seems to work really well, hits all the right buttons for me, slightly more unusual, less common parts with good performance and compatability & stability. What on earth is MD RAM?? Those are sure some big, chunky impressive looking RAM chips!

Indeed, thankfully I have my original broken 3310 to swap the case over so it looks a bit classier! 😁

Nice! Two desktop cases, Voodoo 2, Abit KT7 (with blown caps of course, but still 🤣 ). I also dig the clear blue tower case.

In the second picture what is the card with the large chip marked "BT" and other chip with colourful label, looks like a video card but pretty buried, like the look of that one. 😀

Heck of a nice haul BSA Starfire! Quick note since I know most people are quick to throw out OEM cases, but even the Emachine can be useful. Iv got an identical case that I gutted and put a highend P4 in for a friend, even managed to fit a long X1950 pro in there comfortably. And everything is standard Matx which is nice 😀

Main pc: Asus ROG 17. R9 5900HX, RTX 3070m, 16gb ddr4 3200, 1tb NVME.
Retro PC: Soyo P4S Dragon, 3gb ddr 266, 120gb Maxtor, Geforce Fx 5950 Ultra, SB Live! 5.1

As I now own two Socket 4 boards it is likely one will be sent to a good home once I figure out which one I prefer. I think I will keep that CPU no matter what... Probably end up keeping this board because I have a feeling it will turn out OK, I had a later board with this chipset once and it kicked major ass, here's hoping this one will too.

Think the seller is a Vogons member, so, um, hi. Bought from you before, actually that was a Socket 4 board too.

Its labeled as a Axcel 39CDT on the sticker with the specs. I don't see that model listed on the PB wiki nor have I seen any other models using the same style case, at least as far as the ones I looked at. The again they were notorious for there model naming shenanigans.

Yeah...
I remember them being sold back then for a really short time-span.
Nobody wanted them, as sx was seen as 25mhz only option.
They all said that I should go for DX variants instead (DX/2/4)
I only think that DX3 variants are vapor-ware.

DX3 huh? Guess those would be a 2.5 Multiplier and, sure enough, nothing used that outside of the POD. I thought one of the regular OverDrive's did, but apparently it did not. As for the SX2, strange thing, they show up from time to time and that's about it. I am surprised the SX2-66 didn't sell better, given how many users did not yet need an FPU. I expect Intel probably didn't price them very well, can't speak for AMD.

It sure looks it. Strange how it has no I/O onbaord though. I think I have an ISA one which can disable the IDE and let me use a PCI card for that... Then again, I only need IDE and Serial outside of the regular cards. Would be nice to use SCSI but I don't really plan on spending money on this thing.

Hmm, haven't really made my mind up how to tackle that problem. I'm sure I will have fun figuring it out. Suppose if it supports option ROMs I could just be silly and use my Promise SX6000 12 Channel RAID board for no reason, but I think that would be a little bit of a waste.

Actually, I've seen this picture before. Like waaay before. And the AmoRetro letters are surely not silkscreened on the board.
