I have a Octek Hippo VL+ motherboard but the manual is missing. Is there any place to get a copy of it? I had to remove the soldered battery from the motherboard because it had been leaking and would like to connect a new external battery to the motherboard.

I've got the same board, you can download the manual from mobokive, well actually you'll need to use the wayback machine due to a bad configuration of the server. By the way mine comes with mrbios and i want to change to ami bios, is the ami colorbios the one that comes with the board?

Thanks, this was good information. It was just surprising that the manual file was in WordPerfect format.

About the BIOS that is on the motherboard, I don't know what BIOS there is. I have not yet examined the motherboard that much.

Hehe, I used to have a Octek Hippo DCA2 back in the day. Complete with Mr.Bios also. 😀 It was a very decent 486 motherboard despite the outrageous claims about the DCA. I regret giving it away about 15 years ago.

(BTW the memory chips that you've got in there, are they the *correct* ones for the DCA? 😀)

I/O, I/O,
It's off to disk I go,
With a bit and a byte
And a read and a write,
I/O, I/O
