Hi Vogons,
I was over in the dos guide getting some good advice from members, and was redirected here .

Does anyone know how to get the joystick port to transmit midi ?
I need it to work in conjunction with my dos sequencer, voyetra sequencer plus gold.

Ive a dos setup on a 1999/2000 dell Gl1
With a sb16 isa card - ct2980.

It does work, the diagnose.exe works,
8bit samples, 16 bit samples and fm synth all work.

The autoexec.bat may be the problem ,

Has anyone got this to work ?

Many thanks ..

Thanks for the advice dr_st .
Ive run ctcm and it sets the irq and base address,
Does it do any thing else ? Or can i rem it out, leaving the set blaster line ?

The reason i ask is, the ctcm sets an irq (11) that is incompatible with the sequencer, which looks for irq 5

Btw ive added a line to the autoexecbat which loads sbmidi.exe

It's a PnP card as far as I could check. You need CTCM to initialize it. If am wrong, and it's not PnP, scratch everything I said.

On a PnP card you only need to run CTCU once, to assign the resources of your choice. Then you use CTCM to initialize it upon boot.

Yes indeed, it is pnp, thanks for checking.
I will have a look at that again tonight . CTCU is set, so the CTCM lines will remain in the autoexec.bat.
