Hi all.

Does anyone have the RAM specs for the M-Tech R418 486 PCI motherboard?

Also, for those of you who own this board what has your experience been with adding L2 cache? (Especially up to 1MB)

Thanks

I swapped in a M-Tech R418 revision C (which I think is the same as REV 2) motherboard. It supports up to 256MB of ram and 1 MB of cache

sadly, doesn't find a lot more of information

Thanks. I did find this:

It's a bit confusing because it lists the 72-pin RAM as x36 and the 30-pin RAM as x9 so that implies it needs parity (ECC). That seems odd to me because it's not a server board.

You should try with small FPM modules and see

The board should go up to 256MB and 1MB cache. I am pretty sure I tested both.

Hello @Anonymous Coward

I have found that i have one of these motherboards (ver2) in an old 486 of mine. I recently have been tinkering with it and am interested in upgrading it.

I had recently come across two sticks of 128mb edo, but it will not post with them, i think it may be ecc, but oh well. Anyway i would love to pick your brain about getting this beast supped up to the max. Please pm me when you have some time. Thank you in advance.
