Hi all,
First time posting here, I recently aquierd a biostar 486 motherboard model MB-1433 / 50UIV-A. Ive been pulling my hair out for the past two weeks to get this booted but it always seems to give either no video/no beeps or a scrambled screen at post. When i get into the bios the screen shows up with hieroglyphics and eventually freezes. I did however recently get the board to install dos 6.22 but again it freezes halfway through the install. The board has 16mb of EDO RAM, a intel 486 dx2-66 and a cirrus logic vlb 5429 video card.

I can only think of a few possibilies, Bad ram, dried caps, corrupted bios.

Video card could be bad as well.

cant' blame a motherboard until you've changed the ram and the graphics card.

I was thinking of that as well.
I might go buy some cheap trident card just to test it out
