Who uses their work hours for Vogons anyway?

Oh you'd be surprised. Plus it doesn't always mean that you're not doing the work you're getting payed to do. It might be as simple as having a sandwich break, or already working on a computer and waiting for something to finish.

Looking for wallpapers and was a bit surprised to come across some of my own work (some of which I'd like to refine eventually...)

IBM PC 300PL (1 GHz PIII on MSI-6905 SlotKet, Quadro 256 SDR, SoundBlaster Live!)
Various ThinkPads
HP DC5800 (Xeon X3360, 9800 GT Akimbo)
Various vintage Macs + C64 + Vic-20
And of course the main rig (ASUS Prime X370 Pro, Ryzen 5 1400, HD 7850, etc)

That takes me back. When I worked for SUN the systems we had access to on the shop floor were actually OLDER than that. We had to struggle along with either a poverty spec SparcStation 5 or 10.

I have messed about with that version of Solaris on x86 but I found it quite temperamental when it came to the hardware it would work with.

Yeah, I had a Solaris x86 web server build:

Intel DK-440LX motherboard
Dual Pentium-2 233mhz. CPU's
512mb ram
SCSI drives
ATI expert 98 graphics card. ( that is the trick ).
Onboard adaptec SCSI and Ethernet.

Getting the right graphics card is the trick. This ATI expert 98 works out of the box vanilla with Solaris x89

Cool, I actually have an e-machine that someone gave me who was going to trash it.
It’s in my garage. I think it is a celeron ?
