I'm so excited... I just bought an 80286 10mhz motherboard with 1mb of ram off of ebay.
It's not here yet, but I already know I'm going to need to replace its cmos battery.
It has the barrel type cmos battery, currently.
Can I replace it with a CR2032 button battery? Should I, or would some other type be better?

Thanks for any advice, in advance.

Those Barrel cells are accumulators and have a slightly higher Voltage than a 3V Lithium cell. If you want to install a lithium cell you have to take care that it won't get charged through the board like the NiCd Cell is.
It can be as easy as removing a diode but if you are not sure you can also replace the old cell with 3 AA or AAA NiCd accumulators in series.

Edit: What I like to do is to order a new barrel battery and solder some wires to the board so I can wrap it in some tape or shrinkwrap and place it a good amount away from the motherboard somewhere in the case.
