I promised something very good and I will deliver on that promise.

Guess a number between 100 and 333 (the stock speeds at which Socket 8 has run from the lowest engineering samples to the highest Pentium II Overdrives)*
*according to this site: http://www.cpu-world.com/cgi-bin/CPUID.pl?MAN … Y=Pentium%20Pro

Only Vogons members with 100 posts or more can enter. This is for members who have been here awhile (sorry newcomers). I only cover shipping for U.S. addresses. Everyone else pays for their own shipping.

You can guess every 10 minutes.

The prize:

NOS ALR dual Socket 8 server grade motherboard (this thing is big and will require a large ATX case)
NOS matching I/O backplate
NOS Pentium Pro 200MHz 1MB cache CPU x2
NOS ALR server grade HSF with VRMs and wire kit x2
NOS 256MB EDO RAM (32MB x 8 )

This should set someone up and running with the ultimate dual Socket 8 build. The barrel battery has been clipped from the board and accepts an external battery.

I don't see any AGP slots, so I'll have to pass on it. 🙁

Good luck to everyone else, though!

I'm strictly enforcing the 100 post minimum so please don't play if you do not have 100 posts or more. Thanks.

Check out DOSBox Distro:

a lightweight Linux distro (tinycore) which boots off a usb flash drive and goes straight to DOSBox.

Make your dos retrogaming experience portable!

I just wanted to chime in, these are mostly standard ATX. The only cavat is the slight odd size. However all the holes are in standard locations, it takes a standard atx power.

The extra power connector can be modified from a standard power supply as it is the same setup as the Athlon extra power connector. 2x 5v, 1x 3.3v, 3x ground.

It would be a simple task to make your own adapter.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.
