you know cpuid usually returns:
"genuineintel"
"authenticamd"
"cyrixinstead"
"centaurhauls"
has anyone tried performing cpuid on ibm/st/ti 486 and 6x86 cpus and do they all return "cyrixinstead"?

I'd like to know as well, but I suspect even the grandiose IBM chips are also "cyrixinstead"

IBM branded Cx486 and 5x86 both return CyrixInstead.
