That doesn't look too bad, there shouldn't be anything there to cause the mobo not to work unless the inside layers copper got exposed and is shorting to something. If you can't return it then I'd suggest to file this corner down a bit with sandpaper. Then you can apply some clear coating to prevent further shorts and oxidation from creeping in.
