i was doing some studying on MIDI programming and on the Roland MT-32, and suddenly remembered I needed to fire up my Tandy laptop (Model 100 or "Model-T") because I hadn't checked on it in quite awhile. (my mind works like that, sorry).

I recently got a Roland PMA-5 portable synth, which has a mini-din, ps/2 style serial port (though I don't know how to find a compatible cable) in addition to its MIDI din ports.
So I got to wondering if I could interface the M100 serial port to the MIDI ports on the PMA-5, thus creating a portable, if primitive, synth system. The M100 can just barely make the 31k bps that I believe MIDI communicates at.
(Ironically, the M100 has din modem and cassette interfaces that look like MIDI din ports).

I think the M100's printer port is unidirectional, otherwise I'd consider trying to connect to that, instead.

So am I barking up a tree, here?
