I have a Super Socket 7 mobo (DFI K6XV3+) that I can't turn on using the power button, but have sings of life if I bridge the PS-on wire in the ATX plug with ground :
the motherboard starts to do something (and will eventually hang at the code 07 which for an award bios seems to be "Verify CMOS Read/Write"). If I remove the RAM, the motherboard will beep to announce the RAM is missing.

After some researchs and some probing on the board, I've come to the conclusion the southbridge (VT82C586B) is malfunctioning.

Unfortunately, I can't find that part for less than 20€, except here https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/-ELECT … .481353aaj4bkHZ but I don't think I can buy there 🙁

Can anyone help me ?

Odd that you have to contact the seller (Shenzhen Winsome Electronic), have not ever had to do that but only bought a few items thru Alibaba so far. Have found other sources and yes they want about $20+ except this
you could make a serious offer of say $10 and see what the counter offer is...

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
