Hello there!
It's probably a bit newer than usual for this forum, but I have an MSI MS-6741 motherboard for mPGA754 K8 CPUs which is giving me a bit of an headache with its BIOS flash ROM. The problem is very simple: the ROM chip seems to be 2 Mbit in size, but all the files I found on the Internet are for 4 Mbit chips.
The board is working just fine as is, but I have a Sempron CPU to try, but it needs a BIOS update to properly detect it. Plus, this particular unit has the BIOS chip soldered to the board instead of the standard PLCC32 socketed version, so I can't just replace it.
Does anybody know where can I find the 2 Mbit BIOS for this board?

Hi,

Maybe there're different hardware versions of the mainboard. Try to upload here photos of top and bottom side of the mainboard. On the bottom side usually there's a sticker with the correct model.

It's Rev 1 board. Everything seems to match the specs on the MSI manual, but the ROM apparently does not.
Here are some pics

I think it's MSI K8TM-ILSR. Does your mainboard have integrated graphics?

So yes, those BIOS 4mbit you have downloaded I suppose for a mainboard with integrated graphics K8MM-ILSR

P.S. As I said the model's name is on the sticker 😀

Oh. I just supposed the MS number was different between the two, but apparently I was wrong. Thanks a lot!
