Over the last couple of years, I've been putting together replicas of my old PCs from when I was a teenager/young adult. One of the items I'm looking for is my original CD ROM drive. The problem is that I don't know who made it or what the model number was. However, it had a unique (to my recollection) loading mechanism. It was an internal drive. When you hit the eject button, the whole mechanism, not just the tray) would pop out slightly (like a floppy disk). You would then grab it and pull it out enough to expose a top-loading door that you would lift up and then load the CD. You would then push the whole mechanism back in.
Any thoughts on this model?
