This is a long shot; but seeing if anyone has saved any bios updates for a "MS-6156 v1.0BX7"?
MSI dont seem the best at keeping files for older boards handy so I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask here

Archive.org has this: https://web.archive.org/web/20010611015211/ht … ios/oldbios.htm (June 2001)
which leads to this: https://web.archive.org/web/20010413103026/ht … x/6156/6156.htm
Hopefully yours has an Award BIOS, if so then you can use: W6156IMS which inside TXT says: MS-6156BX W6156IMS V1.6 BIOS Release (For BX chipset only)
I just DL'd it so you should be able to also.
If yours has the AMI BIOS then the newest is: A656MS11 from January 1999...
I dl'd most all on that page so if you cannot get them let me know....
oops, was typing when you posted Deksor

Ah magic, thanks you two for the quick reply! Good thinking using the Waybackwhen machine!
It is a BX board but using a AMI BIOS, I can't really tell if im using the latest version from this screen tbh;
V2.2B3
020999 = 02/09/1999 ?
The version I linked said "2.5" maybe it's newer ?

Got one of those 440BX MSI boards that comes with either AMI or Award BIOS aswell, MS-6119 to be specific.
Mine was the AMI version. Since I prefer Award, and the latest available version was far newer than the AMI one, I decided to try "cross flashing". Worked like a charm, no problems at all 😀
Hotflashed a spare chip I had lying around to begin with. Even if the hotflashing itself might be a little bit risky, it's nice to keep an escape route, not having to gamble on the Award BIOS. Once verified that it worked, I flashed the original chip the regular way.
Edit: might also add that Awdflash 7.83 bundled with the latest Award BIOS wouldn't work. Had to fall back on 7.70. Might be the same with your board, it's probably very similar to mine.
