Isnt that pentium overdrive for a socket 5 or 7 motherboard? Because i think you bought not the right one.. But these socket 5/7 are kinda rare and worth a lot of money.. Shouldnt share that one with an recycler. Should keep or sell if its the wrong one.
What your are looking for is a Pentium overdrive in white / blue silkscreen on the ventilator.

Also I figured out how to open the fan. You just have to pinch the two tabs together in the upper/left corner.
