Has anyone else had issues with single 40-Pin Floppy cables (1 end into the floppy connector on the board and the other end into the 3 1/2" Drive)?
I have tried many of them in a couple different retro PCs and my floppy drives never seen to work. The cables are oriented correct, but the drive either doesnt read disks or doesnt work at all. Sometimes the light stays on (like when the cable is connected the wrong way, but its not). Changing it out for a standard floppy cable with 2 sets of 3 1/2 and 5 1/4 connectors work fine going to the single drive. But the 40-Pin only cables never work. Even changing out floppy drives doesnt do the trick.
Anyone else have issues with these?
Could I be doing something wrong?
