Hello everyone,

Forgive me if this topic has already been discussed in a previous forum, however I really need to get a lot of these and don't know where to find them. As many of you probably know, late '80s and early '90s PC's used a battery, in my case a Rayovac 840, with a 4 pin connection that attached to the motherboard. My battery has died out, and I'd like to get a modern replacement with a button cell, like the one pictured here:

These look like a great modern day replacement for these old 4-pin batteries - does anyone sell them on Ebay/Etsy or somewhere else? I'd really appreciate it if there's a link someone could share so I may purchase!

Thank you in advance!

This is what I recommend

https://www.ebay.com/itm/224320741475

Use energizer lithium AAs and it will last over a decade and never have a chance to leak

Thank you for the link! I noticed these don't have the 4-pin connector included though - do you know where could I find one of those connectors to solder on? Or come to think of it - could I just solder the leads from this pack onto the motherboard connector itself?

It's a standard 0.100" pitch pin header. You can get them at digikey or ebay or anywhere

Digi-Key also stocks the whole thing as BH3AA-211. Pricier, but maybe not if you factor in shipping on two orders.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've looked it up on there and I think I'm going to buy around five - just wondering, have you used these before and can confirm that they work well? Again, really appreciate the help!
