I Recently bought 3 486 cpus from local scrapyard which can be seen below:
I have 3 questions about them:
1)One of them (Left one) is glued to heatsink as seen with some kind of epoxy i believe. Is it possible to remove heatsink from CPU without damaging ceramic package? The reason i want to remove heatsink from CPU is to identify CPU type voltage frequency and so on to test it.Backside of CPU has no identifications except some sticker.
Are there any methods without physically stressing ceramic package?I have tried isoprophyl alcohol between heatsink and ceramic to soften glue but no luck.Any tips?
2)One of them (Middle one) has erased markings. How can i dentify this CPU?Also backside has no markings except some sticker.
3)Am486 DE2-66V8TGC seems like normal Am486 DX2 with power management feature. Can i set motherboard jumpers according to DX2?Will it work same as DX2?
Thanks in advance!
