Hi all,

I've a Pentium Overdrive 83 on an ASUS VL/I-486SV2GX4 motherboard, currently set to 3.45V overclocked to 100Mhz.

I'm currently enjoying trying to max out the performance of the setup, tweaking BIOS settings, etc - best Quake run at 20.8 FPS. It's currently set to 3.45V but I'm confused if I should set it to 5V (vreg does the job) or keep as is.

All seems well, but I'm noticing some quirks with very random freezing particularly in demoscene DOS programs, but I believe this is due to an incompatibility with some video modes on my Tseng ET4000 VLB graphics card.

Thanks

JB

That overdrive is designed for 5v,

on 3.3 it’s probably undervolted

If you want to overclock you need to mod for more than 3.5v to the chip

Thanks for confirming - it's a late revision POD83, so I'm lucky to be getting it up to 100Mhz without too much hassle, will set to 5V now
