A Reborn card, might be fun to play with if I can get the software somewhere:

I might actually have the software. I got like 10 or so of those cards as hand-me-downs? I may even have the paper manual 🤣!
Will probably don't have time to go look until this weekend at the earliest.

No hurry, It's not high on my list of things to do:)

I did research on the card and it looks like a recovery PCI card in case an OS had a nasty virus that destroyed the OS, it'll get the OS up and running again, boot up to 40 partitions at once, and HDD cloning as well.

Reborn-PCI Systems & Data Recovery Card

I might get my hands on a few of them for my machines running 98SE and XP, and there's a version for Windows 7-10 called Lenten Reborn Card for the PCI-Ex systems (either UEFI or Legacy BIOS).

I've finally got a 486 in my collection.

It was an Ebay auction win.

IMG_20171004_203007_1.jpg

A Sound Blaster 16 Value ISA card
A Vesa Local Bus S3 Video Card
A peripheral card (parallel and serial)
A network card (ethernet and some other serial connector)
A CDROM Drive (not sure of speed) - working
A HDD (not sure of size) - working

It also came with a Vision Master Pro 450 monitor. This weighs a ton.

And there was some barrel battery leakage.

The packaging was awful. A reusable carrier bag and bit of bubble wrap.

I've taken the battery off. I'm looking to install a coin battery slot.

The case is a little bit scrappy in places, but it has got a working LCD, reset and turbo buttons.

It's Mach64 VT4 AKA Video Xpression+. Interestingly it has Rage2C marked on the firmware chip.

Awesome find! I have a CT1350B myself. The empty sockets are for the CMS (Creative Music System) upgrade. The specific revision of your card and the DSP chip determine whether or not you can actually do the upgrade without side effects. Some late 80s and early 90s games used CMS music as a more advanced alternative to Adlib\FM (Yamaha OPl2 or OPL3) music. Here's a whole thread about the upgrade:
SB 2.0 CT1350 CMS chips dumped

Two of the chips are fairly easy to find on eBay. The other chip must be programmed by someone... which, thankfully, is possible now due to the diligent efforts of communities like this. 😀

Good grief Charlie Brown! Someone wants a lot for that upgrade! Not for me and I certainly don't have a programmer. Unless you guys know a cheaper way to go about it?

Also have an IBM Aptiva sound card S-16WP1/L with the original wavetable daughtercard. From the research I did before buying it, it looks to basically be an Acer Magic S23A in functionality minus IDE except for the wavetable part is a daughtercard instead of built onto the board.

That's a nice find, I have that one and really like that GM chipset. It should look like this I suspect:

Card just came today. That is indeed the same exact daughter board as the one I received.

Wow, that's pretty pricey!

I'd recommend posting in that thread with the revision number of your card and the version number listed on the big DSP chip (CT1336A for example) to determine if your card is compatible with the upgrade. If it is, there are people around who can program a chip for you for a lot less than $50. Then you'll just need the pair of Philips SAA1099P chips Deksor posted.

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.

What do you think of the sound if it? I really like it, particularly for games like DOOM, Duke3D, etc.
