I tried the 5v 486 66 and the board worked it doesn't work with my AMD586 133
ill have to get a another regulator damn its annoying

I'd swear that "inductor" is a 4.7Ω 10% resistor ...

I think the burn marks came from contact with the two starboard fins of the presumably very hot heatsink to the south of it in this pic :

Just get a replacement power transistor. Unsolder the old one, and get an exact replacement. You'll be fine after that. It's a TIP107 most probably.
