This Sun motherboard with 512MB SD-RAM and a 440Mhz UltraSPARC CPU...

The ATX connector looks like a very standard one, but it's not ... (or maybe I have to try an older PSU)

Sure it's not ATX? Did you have the AUX connector plugged in too? If not, that's your problem.

I couldn't push all the way down the ATX connector in the first place. Something was blocking it. Maybe was the exterior clamp... I don't know. As a rule, I don't force things which seems not to fit in place... I passed this MB to a senior friend to take a look...

I have also the 4xPCI expansion board, and the original hard drive... If the board is OK this could be fun...

My best video so far.

Purchased a full motherboard, it looks like this:
ASRock K8Upgrade-NF3 Socket 754 motherboard with AMD Sempron 3400+ @ 1.8GHz processor and 1GB of PC-3200 memory
The card turns on immediately as soon as it is connected to the power supply, no video signal output.
I think the problem is due to the capacitor to be replaced near the chipset, I will replace it as soon as it arrives, hopefully I should have it fixed.

Received a box of stuff, some more interesting than others, and a new Netgear hub with a 10base2 connector.

Any interest in the drivers discs or the manuals?
The Nvidia one is in English and Chinese, all the others in Japanese except for the Biostar M7VIG quick ref sheet.

I saw an ad on Craigslist for a Cooler Master aluminum case (Mystique RC-632) https://www.newegg.com/silver-cooler-master-m … N82E16811119114 for $25.00. I don't really need it, but it was too good of a deal to pass up. The guy mentioned he had some other things, so I ended up paying $70.00 for the case, an Enermax 500 watt power supply, and a mint Asus P2B-LS350 with a Socket 370 P3 650 (sadly, I don't have a slot adapter, but I do have 3 untested Slot 1 CPUS that I can try out now). I'm not sure if this motherboard has ever been used - the cables are still sealed, and everything is intact. If it was, someone was very careful to pack it back in the box when they replaced it with something else.

This (apparently brand new, bought it as "used") Anatek Pocket Mac MIDI interface. I'm hoping I can use this to connect a synth to a Mac LC III or LC 475. Just need the serial cable now, and figuring out the software side.

Cool, keep it away from me, I have a compulsion to do a cyberdeck mod to it 🤣

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

Very happy to hear the POST beep - now I know both the board and the CPU work. And it answers my question over whether the board had ever been used; it already has the last BIOS that they released for it.
The Slot 1 P3 600 I have also works.

This is amazing! Definitely LGR oddware worthy. 😀

John Carmack was using similar keyboard when he was working on Quake (it was also Intergraph keyboard, just higher model).

He has one: https://twitter.com/lazygamereviews/status/13 … 670915238543361

Those keyboards were made by Altec-Lansing/Maxi-Switch, although were branded by Bloomber, Intergraph and possibly others...

I received this Geforce FX 5950 yesterday which I bought on ebay. Windows XP setup runs without problems and the windows desktop looks fine after booting. After some minutes in idle mode or some seconds in 3Dmark03 it starts throwing artifacts. (Tested on KT333 and Nforce2 Ultra.) It seems that the card has some thermal issues. Let's see whether the seller is willing to refund since he sold the card as "tested and working, without any warranty".

Many sellers throw it in a machine and if it displays anything it's "tested working".
Others test with 3D intensive benchmark tools to be bulletproof.

Annoying inconvenience, hope he'll refund fast.

Sad but true.
You can do this with CPUs. I've never had a CPU that did post turned out to be flawed later on.
But everything else needs further testing. Especially mainboards. Had so many boards that did post but were flawed in other ways.

No. Better hope he doesn't refund.
In that case you can keep the hardware AND get your money back! 😁

Had a case like that once.
IDE didn't work. The pins of the Scythe Mugen were broken off. There were no fragments inside the parcel, so it didn't happen during transport. The heatspreaders of the Kingston HyperX sticks were peeled of. He didn't show them in the auction pictures for good reason! He said he received them this way from the shop. Yeah, sure... Only thing that did work was the Core 2 Extreme (dual core).
He refused to take it back, except when I pay shipping BOTH ways and pay him 20€ for the damages I have caused. oO He also threatened to contact his lawyer, if I give him a bad evaluation or contact the Ebay support. Judging by his evaluations he does that often.
I gave him a bad evaluation, contacted the Ebay support and got my money back. Never heard from that guy again.

Well I got out bid on a few retro Auctions today so I had another look around and found a lot from a guy in Victoria for a very reasonable price (Spent more on Pizza delivery 🤣)

Pentium 133 system, complete box
486DX-50 board with memory
a Socket 7 board with 100Mhz CPU and memory (Cant tell what CPU it is yet)
New serial mouse in box
2 Keyboards AT and PS2
Internal Iomega Zip Drive
1.44mb floppy drive x 3
5 Vintage IDE drives, Quantum Pro, Maxtor, WD, Samsung and what appears to be a HP drive.
Spare AT PSU (not tested so no idea if it works yet)
ISA Serial card
ISA HDD card
CT2960 Sound card
ESS 1868 Audiodrive sound card
Diamond Monster PCI GPU (Not sure what it is yet)

Its an interesting lot and should provide some good entertainment testing and cleaning it all, I think ill put the Pentium 133 into use as a testing rig for ISA and PCI cards I come across, the ZIP drive will be nice if it works when cleaned up, its a nice internal model and I dont have one yet.
