This arrived a few days ago for my K5/Voodoo machine, I plan on adding some more memory on this.

Would this be the correct memory? Also seems to be damn expensive for what it is.

That's actually quite cheap. The little SOJ ram modules for the VLB PARADISE video card for my 486 are $25/each, at least matching em to the model number in the manual is what those come up as.

I have that exact same Virge card, those chips should work. Mine are mismatched, one of them was de-soldered from another card. I think pretty much any 256 EDO DRAM in a SoJ package will work provided adequate latency and correct voltage, the pinout was pretty standard across all cards. The only confusion would be the VRAM used on some older S3 cards had the same footprint and was completely incompatible.

Either way, it's a very fast card in the 2D department and it has decent enough signal quality.

Just bought this for 50 Danish kroners. (7,51 US-Dollars) Waiting for shipping to arrive.
I mentioned numerous times, that 3DfX hardware is something that I will only buy when the price is right.
I guess this is just the sweet spot that I have been looking for.

Matrox G400, G400-Max, G550 and early Radeon (up to 9600/9800) is more my kind of trip. 😁

My question is... This IS a V2 right? My eyes are not decieving me at all?
What vendor/manufactor is it?
Just hope it works.

Yes, Voodoo2 1000 12 MB.
It looks like the Powercolor version (Evilking II).
Vendor_id/device_id? IIRC all Voodoo2s have the same 121A/0002.

Asus P4P800 SE/Pentium4 3.2E/2 Gb DDR400B,
Radeon HD3850 Agp (Sapphire), Catalyst 14.4 (XpProSp3).
Voodoo2 12 MB SLI, Win2k drivers 1.02.00 (XpProSp3).

Why not a V2?
If it is cheap enough, there is no need for not grabbing it.
The one I just bought, was the waiting time worth it.
And I have a V3-3500 already, so I grabbed mine right away.
3DfX hardware is cool. Yes it is. Just not worth the price asked on eBay.

Seems like your V3 is an oddball compared to other V3's.

I found this in a computer discarted in a dumpster today. Had no need for the machine, so I just grabbed this card.
It is not retro enough, I know, just that I really need a card like this with some analog inputs.

Sorry for the confusion, a want to find a V2 and yeah the price on ebay is crazy ...

Not always. Sometimes you'll find a bargain; I know mine didn't cost that much last year (would never have bought it otherwise; pretty sure it was in the single figures), and I've seen the SLI cable, which it came with, go for more on its own. It's all about being patient, or being lucky.

One might say, that V2's and AWE32's are in the same league now. 😁

I have no familiarity with the AWE32, so I don't know how they compare to each other, but it does like there's a huge gap in prices there as well. You can get CT3630 AWE32s for $12 + shipping, but some of the other AWE32 versions are ten times that.

I picked up an entire Pentium-II era tower from a local thrift store last summer for $12 out the door. I had not been planning to ever buy one on it's own at ebay prices, but it had a voodoo2 12MB in it so I picked it up for that reason. And I got a bonus power supply, 2 spare hard drives, IDE cd burner, and another awe64 value, and some spare PC-133 ram for the price.

The guy next door gave me two 8mb Voodoo 2's and a 12mb Voodoo 2 for free last year 😀 things just fall into your lap some times.

For me, the V2 are no more than 15 to 20 bucks worth a piece. Cool to use, if you happens to have one.
They are just hyper overpriced, and so many cards do it better.

Some day I would like to try and rebuild the packard bell system I used to have when I was young, but finding one of those today is almost next to impossible.
