I have been using a Monster Sound MX300 (Vortex2) + Roland SCD15 lately for some DOS games. I realized the other day that it does not need EMM386 for DOS support! That puts it in stark contrast with AudioPCI-based DOS (all Creative PCI cards) audio which does required EMM386.

Works good. And the audio quality that the card puts out is so much clearer and static/pop/crack free compared to SB16.
