Got a boxed Hoontech YMF-754 Digital XG from local second market. $6

Found out the value of this card is not by card, but included driver CD. It has "Whole" Hoontech's device drivers from isa bus sam9407 to DSP24.

I uploaded whole cd list a txt file. If Vogons need this, I'd upload it in Driver Library .

My lastest buy is a full boxed sealed copy of windows 7 professional retail.

I.... guess that's retro given that Windows 8.1 is out. It's a stretch though... 😉

Happy days at my house, I finally got my hands on the boxed Matrox Millennium I've been looking for since forever. This one was still factory sealed but that didn't last long:

Big gratz! Will you consider uploading the driver disk to Vogonsdrivers?

Finally got around to this - I've uploaded an ISO of the CD:

For me windows 7 isnt retro.. I had bought it specially for an Intel QX9650 system that i want to keep it as 32-bit system only. (maybe it could also usefull for gog.com games) I was intended to use windows xp on that system (for the later period windows xp games)
I have my AMD athlon XP build special to use it for late windows 98 games and earlier windows xp games till the Nvidia geforce 6 period..
Because i want to use that QX9650 system online, window xp wouldnt be a good candidate to do that because of security reasons.. So i dont think it would be a good idea either.. Instead of windows xp i was thinking to go for a 32-bit version installation of windows 7 professional.. Iam also think of trying the windows xp mode.. What the results would be i cant tell now.. But iam just going trying it out myself and see if its was a good choice.

So my mailbox had this in it today:

Matrox Mystique w/ Rainbow Runner add-on board
Radeon 7500 AIW
486 PCI motherboard
128 MB of RAM
The first 2 items are mint-in-box, basically. Wasn't expecting that. I don't think they've ever been opened.
Didn't buy them to put them on a shelf, though, they are going in a system (although I will save the box)

I finally broke down and picked up one of those Savage IX AGP boards that are always on ebay these days. It was only $7 shipped so no biggie if it doesn't work or if the performance is disappointing.

Sound interesting. Is this another early 3D chip?

It's actually a mobile chip mounted on a card. Savage IX has the 2D part from the Savage 2000 combined with the 3D part from the Savage 4.

Just arrived today. Was 10 bucks 😀

Quite dirty, needs a shower and some TLC. The molex plug is a bit wobbly and needs re-soldering.

Bagged this one for the cheapest BIN I've seen for this revision board: $32 + Shipping.

GENUINE OEM GIGABYTE GA-5AX rev 5.2 DESKTOP MOTHERBOARD + AMD K6 -2 CPU @500mhz

OEM means it most likely has a custom BIOS that locks out a lot of things that you might otherwise be able to change with a retail board. I always take that into consideration before buying motherboards. OEM's don't want you to upgrade or overclock so they remove those options from the BIOS. The parts they ship with it are pretty much all that are supported, with few exceptions. If you boot it and are greeted by a Compaq, HP, IBM, or other OEM logo then your BIOS options will most likely be severely limited.

Looks normal to me from his screenshots. We'll see I guess! Certainly was cheap enough.

There is nothing oem about that board, typical eBay seller ignorance. Great score though!

I have an Asus P5A-B that I pulled out of a Compaq case that *looks* like a retail board but has a Compaq BIOS.
