Yeah... I'd keep an eye on the caps in the Earthwatts. Despite being Seasonic OEM'd (SS-500HT-F3)... OST caps aren't the most ideal to have.

Just bought three lovely ISA cards for my 386 boards, two are VGA cards the first one is a bit of an enigma as its a STB 450 VGA/IO card but im at a loss for more info on it. All three have been tested and work just fine including the IO card.

Similar to the above card but also supports Super VGA modes. - Weirdly this card has its Crystals as ICs .. not cans.

...is it wrong that my Paypal doesn't require a password for one click purchases 😜 (Sadly have been sniped far to many times due to passwords and authenticators)

Also I left the ATI and two CL VLB cards ...I cant use VLB and ATI doesn't interest me 😁

That WD Paradise is the fastest XT graphics card. It was a good buy.

Nods ...cant believe that price, the 450 IO card is and odd one too been googling it to death and nada so far I wonder if it is a clone card and I should look there.

Might source some memory chips and upgrade the Paradise to 1meg.

Yes that was a good one too. I got the IO card with the led pins for the hard drive. Most 386 boards don’t have pins for HD activity.

I got a WD paradise with 1mb. Very lucky to get it.

Can you take a close up pic of the memory ICs ?

Just so I have an idea, I think it takes 128x8

I just checked it again. It has 512kb. I must be thinking of another ISA card. Here is the model Western Digital Paradise NT-200B 512KB (WDC90C00-JK). I’ll still get a picture to compare.

If you need photos of the ISA video cards, with WD chips, I have two on the bench, I use one for those PCs that don't show anything on the screen using the PCI, while with ISA there is the BIOS screen, the other is waiting for the end of the work, I have some 486 ISA, which sooner or later I will fix at least one.

Hmm I may have to socket the existing soldered IC's so I can switch them all for 70ns ICs.

That STB VGA/IO card doesn't exist anywhere on Google ..so weird.

They advised me to replace all the 70 ns chips with other identical ones but 45 ns, at the moment I have not looked for these 45 ns chips, because I don't have a working 486 ISA, in this way the 70 ns chips that I will remove, I will be able to reuse them on other VGAs, to expand the RAM to 1 MB, in the photo I have the NT-200B with a free row, but they need chips with a lower capacity, I don't think it is possible to go up to 1 MB.

Bit more info on your mystery card - seems to have been called the Quick VGA (fccid at https://fccid.io/EKSUSA450COMBO ). I've attached a short piece on it from BYTE and a copy of the CHIPS Windows 3.x driver from the STB archive.

holy heck, even that much is great to see, I spent 2 hours searching and nada, thanks !

Looks like it supports a mouse, I wonder if its a normal serial connector of if it uses the PS2 port type on the card. (Bus mouse IIRC)

Sadly no 😀 , that's your lot as far as the STB archive goes, though I did find an old bbs listing of what was available back in the day (maybe worth further searches by filename, or perhaps someone has them hiding in personal archives!). I need to make some slot covers. What program are you designing these in, are you doing these just by hand or is someone doing the work for you?

PCBWay can do sheet metal but I have never got them to do a sheet metal project for me.

I’ve been trying to score a 771 motherboard for quite some time now without success when I realized that it was the wrong strategy and I should’ve looked at complete workstations instead. Got this dual Xeon Dell Precision 690. What an absolute monster!
Here it is next to it’s little brother, a 1366 Dell Precision T5500.
