It's been a long while since I've found anything remotely old hardware-wise at my usual flea market, other than ISA modems & NICs... but then I came across this!

img_20150930_174127143.jpg?w=800

Anything pre-Pentium has become quite scarce, let alone a turbo XT board, with a V20 to boot! Haven't tested it yet, chip date codes put it around 1990.
I spot a trimmer cap in series with the 14.318 crystal so maybe this one might display NTSC color with a CGA card? I've got one somewhere that I've never gotten any color from its composite output, I ought to try it with this board. 😀

That board is a Juko Super Turbo XT, it has a 24MHz crystal and most likely is divided by 2 rather than by 3 so the system will be running at 12MHz. Some ISA cards might not work at that speed, when i tested mine VGA cards, generic I/O controller and XT-IDE board were working fine, but sound cards will have a hard time working with that speed i reckon.

Not all of these boards are running 12mhz, some versions do 8Mhz also..

Picked up these two items today. Was cheap, 4 US Dollars...
I know that it is a TNT2-Vanta, grabbed it because it is a PCI-Card.

I only have one issue regarding the 9800. It has no picture on every board tested.
Does the card need some sort of external power-connector? JU2 connector perhaps?
(that's the white connector just above the Heatsink, and it looks like a Floppy powerconnector)

the 9800, 9700 and some 9500 radeon cards need auxiliary power. Some have a FDD-type connector, others have a molex (HDD) connector.

Thanks. Will go from there. Nice to get my initial thought validated. 😀

I bought this lot with random unidentified junk for 20 euro + 30 euro shipping from Italy.
Sold as used but working! If more than one of the motherboards are dead I will probably ask for a partial refund 😜

One of the motherboards is a i430FX motherboard, that board is the whole reason I bought the lot as my Freetech 586F52 motherboard is a bit too picky when it comes to sound cards. The board seems to be a PC Chips M507, or at least a board using that design. The cache chips on the motherboard are probably fake but it has a populated coast slot so it shouldnt matter.
http://motherboards.mbarron.net/models/pcchips/m507.htm http://th2chips.freeservers.com/m507/

The other Socket-7 motherboard seems to be a PC Chips M520 i430VX motherboard and I bet it has fake cache too but here we also have a populated coast slot.
http://motherboards.mbarron.net/models/pcchips/m520.htm

Then we have the 486 motherboard, Im hoping its a motherboard from an IBM PS/1 2133/2155 Consultant, that is at least my best guess. We can see both a 486SX and a 486SX2 CPU in the picture so I guess it got upgraded. It isnt a perfect match when comparing with the pictures I have found but its very close. It has different colored ram slots and a different video memory package type but the rest looks the same.

I had an IBM PS/1 Consultant with a 486SX-25, a computer I took as a trade in 1997 but never opened or really used. It was in mint condition with all software, keyboard and monitor and even every single handbook. My father took the IBM PS/1 to the dump some years after I moved from my parents along with a trailer full of other computers and monitors I had left behind.

Does anyone know what the ISA card is? Is it a very early SCSI card or is it something other interesting or something totally useless? 😀

As usual everything is photographed on an antistatic carpet 😉

Yeah, I did not bother to clean it before I took the picture, it are the remnants of a thermal pad.

I'm not sure what it is, but almost sure that it is not a SCSI board. It has no connections for any internal drivers, and it is too complex for being a external only SCSI card. My guess is, it is coming from a special purpose device (like video editing, data acquisition, etc.). I have no idea about how useless it is, but "totally" is my wild assed guess. 😈

Got another XT clone, this time a Huyndai "Pony" - no keyboard/monitor for this - quite beaten since it was used in a school as far as I can tell. It worked but had severe battery damage so it spend a night in vinegar bath 🤣

Pretty basic setup , 2x 360kb floppies (working) and an ATI Small Wonder rev1 graphics card. All acid is gone now , will have to see what needs replacing now. I'll try to run some benchmark and see the specs of the machine.

^ yep , it has onboard lpt/serial (need replacing as acid made them green and vinegar now brown-ish) and onboard FDC . Apparently it has 640kb of RAM and is a 10mhz machine:

QTzphI3.jpg

I haven't found if there is a way to make it ~4.77mhz, there is no turbo button in the case and ctrl+atl+minus/plus does not work.
The mobo is a Hyundai 16TE and has this text string in it:

Patterson Labs Basic I/O System Version 2.00Ia

If only the case wasn't such a mess....

btw, as expected the ATI cga is a color mess when it comes to composite 🤣 🤣 🤣

Radeon SDR with DVI - very nice. 😀
Could you please upload hires photo of front and back side? I have couple of these Radeons myself and I'm considering to add DVI conector on one of them (at the moment there is only VGA + svideo).
