I just won whatever this is. I know it's a Radeon AGP card, definitely one of the later ones, but the listing didn't say and the picture of the box didn't reveal it either. I suspect a 4670 based on preliminary Google searching. Going to throw this into the Win2k box for fun.

Better check Product Code.
There are few of them around.
I own HIS 4670 AGP IceQ with 1600MHz DDR3 RAM.
Also, I do not think there are HD 4000 series Windows 2000 drivers around... I can be wrong in this subject tho.

Thanks for the advice about the product code. I'll have a look; it appears on the HiS website there are two different SKUs.

As far as 2k drivers go, while there are not official ones, BlackWingCat seems to have made this work: http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/130431-ati-ra … r-windows-2000/

Radeon X800XT AGP (fan is broken though). That is why I got the ATI Silencer 😀

Does it work with Windows 98? The same-generation GeForce 6800 GT does, so I wonder if Radeon X800 could do the same.

Never thought this thread would be that long, but now, for something different.....

The X800XT AGP should work on Windows 98SE, I even had succsess with X800XL PCIe and X800XT PCIe on that OS.

The very last ("optional") components of my Win98 build came today - a pair of 512 MB PC800 RIMMs, and a Tualatin-S 1.4 with socket adapter.

My Asus P3C-L BIOS doesn't properly recognize the Tualatin, and apparently will only auto-configure to 10x multiplier, so it says it's a "Pentium II at 1333 MHz" (HAH!) but CPU-Z in Windows 98 recognizes it properly, at full 1.4 GHz speed, even.

So the last thing to figure out is why my floppy drive doesn't work. I have an LS-120 drive, which the BIOS supports as a 1.44 MB "A: drive", so I'm good there; but my Teac dual-drive doesn't seem to have either its 3.5" or 5.25" sides recognized. Oh, and swap in a different optical drive. The one I have in it *WORKS*, but it doesn't eject properly, I have to physically eject with a pin-in-the-eject-hole.

Windows 98 sure is lightning fast on this system! Now to get some games loaded...

Good to hear that. How about AA? Is X800XT's AA work with older games?

Hi!
any idea what is it?
OK.. I know it's a ISA soudcard 😀 but I can't find anything else in google...
It's format, 8bit ISA and volume regulation on back suggest it's quite old... Maybe some AdLib clone?

HELP! 😀

Can't tell you what it is, but it's not an adlib clone.

(edit) A search by FCC ID shows it's a card made by Anchor Electronics Corp. No further info
https://fccid.io/J98MF-002

(edit2) there was another thread about this card here Re: Vital MF002BR 8-bit sound card Looks like a SB 2.0 clone, or clone of a clone. 😀

My money is on a Sound Blaster clone.

I have a somewhat similar card with approximately the same number of chips, also a big socketed chip (not as big as that one though), a smaller SMD chip with legs all around it, and then a few more smaller chips. My card is a MediaSonic Sound Commander EX and I also can't find any info on it, but I'm almost certain it's a Sound Blaster clone.

Also, notice how there are jumpers for setting the base address to either 220 or 240, as well as jumpers for the IRQ, so definitely not Adlib.

I'd also say SB clone as well, that intel 8051 chips is what creative use as the DSP chip, thats a bit of a giveaway, I dont know any other sound cards that also used an 8051 onboard other than Sound Blaster. The ST6012M6 is an ADC.

Very cool! Would bandwidth be a problem for the SATA drives in that case?

Dunno, but its 9x I can't go bigger than 80, because my next size in my collection is 500gb

It would be worth testing. The cheap adapters which plug directly into the back of the drive pretty almost saturate ATA100, so it's much faster than anything period correct.

This just arived in the mail today, while I was visiting my children at their mothers place.
(I visit them once every week, and they visit me one weekend, every third week)

I have not yet had the time to test it out. Finally I have both a CL5446 and a S3 Trio64v+
It has one meg of ram and as much as two would be nice, one is enough for pure MS-Dos 6.22.
The price was nice too. I gave 4 US Dollars for this card. Need to look for Trident PCI now.
