Just recieved in the mail a couple of hours ago.... AmigaOS Version 3.1.4
It was released last year, and is the newest version for classic Amiga, so no PPC native. The biggest news is partitions bigger than 4gb. And ton's of bug fixes. Still on 6 floppy disks, and there is a 3.1.4 Rom chip in the kit as well. One limitations over the 3.1 release, is that you need at least 2mb of Ram. Yet 8mb upgrade's can be found....

I consider myself VERY lucky to have found a high end Philips 109P 19" CRT from 2000 with a Trinitron-type display for just €25 including the original box in perfect condition (no yellowing at all and the glass has not a single scratch or scuff). It can do 1600x1200 at 85Hz which is insane and there's very little fuzziness even at the highest resolutions. If anything, it's TOO sharp for a true "authentic" retro experience since I can see the pixels very sharply. I love it though and I hope it lives a long life as my main monitor for all my pre-widescreen games.

I used to own a 107P and if I had the space I would buy a 109P in a heartbeat; best monitor of the era IMO.

Probably scored the BIGGEST haul I could ever get my hands on (not so much retro but still.)

DFI Infinity NFII-M2 - nForce 4 SLI, Skt AM2
ASUS M2NPV-VM - nF6150+430, AM2
Jetway N2PAP-LITE - nForce 2, Skt 462 - doesn't POST, looks like NOBODY replaced the GSCs and I suspect them being bad without any visible bulge.
ASUS P4C800 Rev2.00A - i875P, Skt 478
ASUS M2N 1394 - nForce 430 MCP, Skt AM2
MSI G41M-P26 - Intel G41, LGA775
ASUS K8N - nForce 3 250, Skt 754
ASUS A7N8X-X - nForce 2, Skt. 462 - blown caps yet it surprisingly did POST!!
MSI K9N4 Ultra - nForce 550 Ultra, AM2 - dead

I know most of these aren't retro (the K8N, N2PAP-LITE and A7N8X are retro tho) but still, it does count as a big haul 😀 Also, the DFI made it all worth it. Where I live DFI, EPoX and ABIT are literal gems to come across, and even more worth if I can find one in working state (with minimal damage at least - this one has a missing cap between a PCI-E and the first PCI slot)

"Enter at your own peril, past the bolted door..."
Main PC: i5 3470, GB B75M-D3H, 16GB RAM, 2x1TB
98SE : P3 650, Soyo SY-6BA+IV, 384MB RAM, 80GB

Shure.... There you go. I have crossed the license key out. That key is mine. 😉

It's really nice how Hyperion packages the classic OS. Very well put together.

Picked up this tiny little Via machine at the thrift shop between classes today. 2 PCI, 1 ISA and a nice bunch of ports on the back so I think it'll make a nice little retro box. 128MB PC133 I believe. It's so small that I might throw it into the adorable category.

Do I see a 686B southbridge under that sticker? And a Via audio CODEC? If so, you don't even need an ISA sound card for DOS (although the option for one is always great).

Offending stickers unstuck!

That's a cute little system.

For those people looking for new CRT monitors, there is a Portuguese seller on ebay selling brand new Gateway CRTs. They're not very good models if you're used to a decent 21" though.

Due to the difficulty finding decent monitors, I suspect when my two C220p monitors die I'll get a decent TFT
